retrouvaille

I was lost, roaming around in darkness, hoping to find a speck of light,
when I saw you sitting there, an angel with feathers white,
I could feel my heart beating again, and the darkness began to fade,
There was suddenly a light at the horizon, which gave my life a lighter shade,
it was your smile, that rose up the sun, your eyes brought the winds back,
before I knew, I was walking with you, was back from being a shack.

It had been a while, since I looked into a mirror, and saw myself smile,
It was like walking with you, on the beach, for miles,
I wasn’t even sure if I would see myself again, for I had left all hope,
and you came along, like a beautiful song, like a druggies last piece of dope.

If I could, I would thank you with my heart, for you helped me meet me again,
You brought back the fun and frolic, and helped me break the chains,
It’s still difficult to tell you dear, what I feel about you,
But that’s for sure, if it weren’t for you, I would not have survived this through…
